Joe began his martial arts training with taekwondo in 1984. Since that time, he has also studied Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Combat Hapkido, and the Scientific Fighting Congress Unarmed Combatives, Pacific Archipelago Combatives, Knife/CounterKnife Combatives, and SDMS Impact Weapon Combatives Courses.
Joe currently works as a Detective for a Southern Wisconsin Law Enforcement Agency. Joe is also a State Certified Defensive Tactics Instructor, and developed a Supplemental Officer Ground Defense and Edged Weapons Defense Program for his department. Prior to becoming a Detective, Joe worked several years as a Patrol Deputy. He has also received Crowd Control Training, served on two Correctional Emergency Response Teams (CERT), and worked approximately 5 years as a Correctional Officer. Joe has also served as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT-Basic.
Joe has taught Rape Awareness and General Self-Defense seminars and classes at Health Clubs, and has been a Guest Speaker for High School Physical Education Classes, teaching basic self-defense techniques to the students.

Kathy has worked in Law Enforcement for approximately 12 years. She currently works as a Detective specializing in Sex Crimes and Crimes against Children, having investigated numerous sexual assaults and crimes against children, as well as other types of criminal activity. She is also a member of a county-wide Elder Abuse Investigation team. Prior to being promoted to Detective, she worked as a Patrol Deputy, where she served as a Community Oriented Policing Specialist and DARE Officer. Kathy also served 2 years as a Field Training Officer, training new Deputies in the Jail Division.

Kathy holds a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Criminal Justice from UW-Madison. She has also taught Rape Awareness and General Self-Defense seminars and classes.
